Measuring the ecological impact as best as possible
To ensure that our knobs have a real ecological impact, we called on an independent company (Ad Fine) to carry out a life cycle analysis (LCA) of our HYDRAO Aloé knob.
The LCA analyses the environmental impact of a product over its entire life cycle, from manufacture to recycling.
Unlike the carbon footprint, which only takes into account CO2 emissions, the LCA takes into account multiple variables such as global warming, depletion of abiotic resources (non-renewable mineral resources), depletion of the ozone layer, aquatic eutrophication, water and energy consumption...
Thanks to this LCA we were able to ensure that yes, our knobs have a real ecological impact even though they contain electronics.

Manufacturing impact vs. usage impact
For showerheads - standard or HYDRAO - the use phase represents more than 90% of the environmental impact of the product over its entire life cycle By saving water and energy, HYDRAO showerheads allow you to have a better impact on our planet. They even have a positive impact from the 163rd shower onwards, unlike a conventional showerhead.
In fact, from the 162nd shower onwards (i.e. 54 days of use for a three-person household), the impact of the manufacture of the HYDRAO Aloe showerhead is offset by the water and energy savings generated by it.

The positive and powerful impact of Nudge technology
While the Nudge / pedagogical function (colour change) does require electronics, its presence in the showerhead reduces the environmental impact of the ALOE showerhead by 60%
over its entire life cycle compared to a standard showerhead. This is achieved through the reduction in shower time achieved via the light levels.
Compared to a standard showerhead used in an inefficient way (without paying attention to its shower time), the ALOE showerhead allows a reduction of 514kg of CO2eq (CO2 equivalent).
This LCA carried out by Ad Fine has enabled us to confirm that HYDRAO showerheads are real innovations that have their place in the ecological home of today and tomorrow.
